We’re honoured to share that PICS Fine Jewellery was featured in Gem Spectrum.
Rather than presenting jewellery simply as an object of adornment, the editorial explores Catherine's belief that jewellery can become a language for expressing ideas, encouraging reflection and bringing people together. At its heart is As One; We Craft, PICS Fine Jewellery's signature annual participatory artwork, where people from different backgrounds collectively create one-of-a-kind jewellery through traditional craftsmanship.
The article also shares the philosophy behind PICS Fine Jewellery, exploring how handcrafted jewellery, extraordinary gemstones and artistic expression come together to celebrate individuality, hidden beauty and social inclusion.
This editorial follows PICS Fine Jewellery's earlier feature in Gem Spectrum after Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong 2025 (JGW). Following Catherine's recognition as a Finalist in the Jewellery World Awards, Founder & Chief Editor Julius Zheng interviewed her about the philosophy behind PICS Fine Jewellery and the ideas that shape its creations, including the Desire pendant-brooch.
The Desire pendant-brooch, the first creation of the Desire Collection, explores the tension between the comfort of safety and the longing for freedom. A bird enclosed within a diamond-set cage symbolises the quiet conflict between reality and aspiration, while the living branch beneath represents hope, courage and the power of imagination to reach beyond perceived limitations.
